PROBLEM STATEMENT

Female participation in sports is disproportionately low due to various factors such as lack of access, limited opportunities, and societal barriers. Addressing this requires creating inclusive programs, promoting gender equity, and breaking down cultural and societal barriers.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Crows Cup Carnival was started by Crows AFLW captain Chelsea Randall in 2016, to help provide a fun and safe environment for schoolgirls across South Australia to give football a go. Today, the program teaches the importance of nutrition, regular exercise as well as building resilience and positive attitude into daily life.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

Crows Cup events are available for primary and secondary schools across the metropolitan and regional locations. Crows Cup football carnivals provide female participants with a fun and inclusive come and try football experience. During the event participants hear from Adelaide Crows AFLW players on the benefits of sport on physical and mental health. The program incorporates sporting partners aimed at providing a pathway for students to continue their sporting journey.
